H.E. Hassan Moallin Mohamud Sheikh Ali is a respected Somali politician and
intellectual. He serves as the Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, playing
a pivotal role in advancing justice sector reforms and constitutional development.
From 2009 to 2022, he served as a Member of Parliament, where he contributed
significantly to national policymaking and governance. He was the Founding
Chairman of the Daljir Party and also served as State Minister for Presidential
Affairs, where he supported executive leadership in critical national matters.
Hassan holds a Master’s Degree in International Studies and Diplomacy from the
School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS), University of London, and a
Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science from Kingston University London. He
completed his early education at Benadir High School and Benadir Primary and
Middle School in Mogadishu.
He is a distinguished member of the Board of Advisors of the National Academy of
Maay Culture and Science, supporting efforts to preserve and promote Somalia’s
linguistic and cultural heritage.
