Safeguarding Rights, Building Awareness, and Shaping Democracy
The Constitutional Affairs Department leads the Ministry’s efforts in safeguarding, implementing, and promoting the Somali Constitution. It provides consultations on constitutional matters and supports the development and research of constitutional policy. This department works closely with lawmakers, civil society, and international partners to ensure that the Constitution reflects national values and legal evolution.
In addition to policy and legal support, it plays a vital role in civic education and public outreach, helping citizens understand their constitutional rights and responsibilities. It aims to strengthen the democratic fabric of Somalia through awareness and engagement.
