The Planning and Policy Department leads the Ministry’s efforts in strategic planning, research, coordination, and performance monitoring. It ensures that departmental objectives align with national priorities and monitors progress through regular data collection and reporting. The department also plays a central role in resource mobilization, donor coordination, and intergovernmental collaboration, especially with Federal Member States.

It serves as a knowledge hub for research and policy analysis, using evidence-based insights to guide decision-making and institutional reforms.
