Justice Minister Meets UN Envoy on Constitutional Progress

The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Government of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Macalin Mahmoud, today received the Special Representative of the United Nations Secretary-General for Somalia, Mr. James Swan, at his office in Mogadishu.

The meeting focused on strengthening the partnership and cooperation between the Federal Government of Somalia and the United Nations, particularly in the areas of justice, constitutional affairs, and the broader state-building process.

Minister Hassan Macalin briefed Mr. Swan on the progress of the National Consultative Forum, ongoing efforts towards the completion of the Constitution, and the country’s electoral roadmap.
