Mogadishu, Somalia – July 15, 2025
The Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs of the Federal Republic of Somalia, H.E. Hassan Macalin Mahmoud, participated today in the official launch of a major capacity-building project aimed at enhancing the skills of civil servants, particularly those working in the justice and health sectors.
The project, a collaborative initiative between the University of Palermo (Italy) and the Somali National University, will span a period of three years. It aims to provide structured training programs for staff members from both the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Health, with the goal of improving the quality and delivery of public services across the two sectors.
In his remarks during the launch event, Minister Hassan Macalin emphasized that the initiative demonstrates the Somali Government’s ongoing commitment to investing in human capital and professional development within public institutions. “This project is a clear testament to our dedication to strengthening the knowledge and capacity of our civil servants, which in turn will elevate the quality of services delivered to our citizens,” the Minister noted.
The project is expected to significantly contribute to the modernization and professionalization of Somalia’s justice and health systems, in alignment with national development priorities.
